You know you are too busy when you do not have time to listen to all your favourite Christmas music – fortunately producing a musical Christmas card gives me the chance to wallow in all my favourites. There is so much wonderful music associated with this time of year, both joyful and poignant, secular and religious, and of course great new songs come along all the time, but often we only get to hear the same 20 or so classics played over and over, and we miss out of some of the gorgeous but less well-known music out there. Too busy to produce CDs, in 2012 I decided to compile a musical Christmas blog post with the songs I would have chosen for the CD – do have a listen to those songs too, you may discover a new favourite! Last year was so busy I didn’t produce a musical card, so I am reinitiating what I am determined will be a personal Christmas tradition. I have compiled a selection of new version of old classics, and some wonderful new Christmas songs you may or may not know – enjoy, and have a great Christmas!
